¡Flamenco Para Todos!

(All Levels)

Sevillanas All skill levels. Sevillanas al estilo de Jerez.   You may have learned them all before, but probably not this way.  This multi-level series of classes is ideal for both those who know sevillanas and are interested in learning a new (and muy flamenca) variation and for those who are brand new!  Many of the sevillanas steps are commonly used as marking steps in flamenco dances such as bulerias and even tangos.  And, without a doubt, the study of arms and upper body through sevillanas can be transferred to all other forms of flamenco dancing.  In addition, many people enjoy learning sevillanas as there is a clear formula for the dance, no guessing about what to do when.  The repetition of movement tends to deliver quite a nice workout as well!

¡Rumba Flamenca! All skill levels. Rumba flamenca, also known as flamenco rumba or simply rumba, is a palo (style) of flamenco music developed in Andalusia, Spain. It is known as one of the cantes de ida y vuelta (roundtrip songs), music which diverged in the new world, then returned to Spain in a new form. The genre originated in the 19th century in Andalusia, southern Spain, where Cuban music first reached the country. The rumba flamenca dance has some origins in Catalonia, specifically in the downtown areas of Barcelona, where the dance that it accompanied was improvised with prominent hip and shoulder movements, intricate movements of hands and feet, while also accompanying it with subtle sounds with the feet and hands.
